Startup and Training: A Bridge from Italy to Silicon Valley
Sustainability

Skills, professions, and new fields Where and how innovation will happen An interview with Marco Marinucci, CEO of Mind the Bridge Foundation

Italy’s educational system (with academia in the forefront) is one of the key channels through which new ideas and innovation might be filtered, before becoming the springboards for gaining ground in the market. Marco Marinucci, CEO of Mind the Bridge Foundation, talks about the foundations of his experience, and the dozens of Italian start-ups guided in Silicon Valley thanks to the efforts of the foundation.

From a training standpoint, a distinction must be made. «An Italian engineer, in terms of foundational training», explains Marinucci «can certainly hold his or her own against U.S. or U.K.-trained engineers. But there are areas ripe for improvement, such as in design, which today is amongst the most sought-after and best-paid professions in companies like Google».
