External Activities

In order to promote a culture of truly integrated sustainability, the Cattolica Assicurazioni Group supports external activities and projects by supporting the companies and think tanks involved in the creation of development paths capable of protecting the existence and well-being of persons, families and companies.

FEEM - Fondazione ENI Enrico Mattei

During 2016, Cattolica began a cooperation with FEEM - Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei, as part of the project called “Disclosure, Measurement, Management and Mitigation of Climate-Related Risks for Companies” (DeRisk-CO), the objective of which is to promote scientific knowledge on the risks and opportunities for companies associated with climate change.

DeRisk-CO belongs to the FEEM research program “Society and Sustainability” (SAS), and intends to go along with the paradigm of development outlined by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and by the relative Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), for which companies are complex systems of interaction between communities, businesses and public institutions, asked to cooperate closely to improve the results in terms of progress, social cohesion and environmental quality. At the beginning of 2018, Cattolica decided to continue the cooperation with FEEM more systematically by signing a cooperation agreement for the 2018-2020 three-year period to further explore the 4 subjects - governance, strategy, risk management, metrics and targets - highlighted in the Recommendations of June 2017 by the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) of the Financial Stability Board.

Fondazione Sodalitas

In 2019 Cattolica Assicurazioni joined Fondazione Sodalitas, the first Italian organization to promote the corporate social responsibility. Sodalitas acts as a network of corporations, voluntary workers and staff, aiming for the generation of a shared social value, through the promotion of a partnership-oriented culture shaping a future of growth, sustainability and inclusion, as well as cohesion and widespread development for the community.

In particular, the Foundation supports the development of effective ventures, achieved by mutual planning and cooperation among corporations, non-profit organizations and social enterprises, educational subjects, institutions and public and private stakeholders.

Il Quinto Ampliamento

In 2017, Cattolica decided to join Quinto Ampliamento, a Non-Profit Association that includes among its founding members leading entrepreneurial, cultural, business communication organizations and associations.

Quinto Ampliamento offers companies theoretical and practical tools with which to become stronger, inspired by the concepts of Fair Economy. It works towards the achievement of a business model that places the common good and the person at the centre of its dynamics, which overcomes the aridity of the dominating economic models to savour the taste of the great challenges. With profit.

“Previously, Adriano Olivetti was thinking of the “Quinto Ampliamento”. The idea at the core of the Olivetti project is fair business as agent of transformation not only of the economic sphere but also of the social and civil sphere of the company. It was to carry out a project of this kind that Quinto Ampliamento Association was born”. Stefano Zamagni
